Questions retail teams ask about task management

What is different about retail task management?

Retail work is tied to a location, trading window and role. Opening checks, stock work, merchandising and closing tasks have different evidence and escalation needs. A generic to-do list often misses the store context that area managers need.

Should tasks be assigned to a person or a role?

Use a role when the shift owns the work and the named employee may change. Use a person when accountability or specialist authority matters. The example retains a responsible role and can be extended with an assignee field for your staffing model.

Does marking a task complete prove the work was done?

Not always. Define which tasks need a note, photo, checklist or manager verification. The sample exposes proof fields for failed checks and keeps verification as a separate state where review is required.

Can recurring tasks be generated automatically?

Jodoo can support automation around recurring work, but the recurrence rule, store calendar, holidays and missed-run behavior must be designed for your operation. The public sample focuses on the resulting store tasks and exception queue rather than claiming a universal scheduler.
