    Decide whether the primary record is a production order, batch, job, operation, item-period plan, or another stable commitment.

    Define lifecycle states

    Use states that change the next action: planned, released, ready, running, held, completed, awaiting verification, and closed.

    Record start, output, scrap, downtime, hold, resume, change, and completion with source, time, and responsible role.
