Task management dashboard

See the task behind every workload and due-date signal

Give team leads an actionable view of due health, blockers, ownership, workload, stale updates, and verification without separating charts from the task queue.

Every measure should answer three questions: what does it mean, which records produced it, and who acts next?

  • Exception measures before vanity totals
  • Filters by team, owner, type, priority, and period
  • Drill-down to the exact task and next action
The KPI anatomy

Define each signal so two managers reach the same records

A dashboard becomes trustworthy when definitions and response rules are explicit.

01

Overdue

Open tasks whose committed due date is before today, excluding cancelled work.

Replan, complete, reassign, or escalate the cause.
02

Blocked over threshold

Tasks in blocked state longer than the response window for their priority.

Open the blocker and assign the unblock action.
03

Stale open work

Open tasks without a recent meaningful update or next action.

Refresh, reassign, or close the record.
04

Awaiting verification

Tasks submitted complete but not yet accepted or returned.

Review evidence and record the outcome.
05

Owner workload

Accepted open commitments by owner, due horizon, priority, or effort band.

Rebalance before work becomes late.
Dashboard acceptance test

Reject charts that cannot support the next decision

Use representative tasks to test the entire path from signal to action.

01

Definition

Ask two managers which records belong in the measure.

They choose the same population and time window.
02

Freshness

Update a task and observe when the signal changes.

The timing matches the operating review cadence.
03

Drill-down

Open the chart segment or queue behind a signal.

The exact tasks and relevant fields are visible.
04

Actionability

Name the role and response for an adverse result.

The dashboard leads to a defined action, not another status meeting.
Dashboard questions

What makes a task dashboard useful

Which KPIs belong on a task management dashboard?

Start with unassigned work, due health, overdue tasks, blocker age, stale updates, waiting verification, owner workload, return rate, and recurring exceptions. Add a measure only when it supports a decision.

Should a task dashboard show completed-task counts?

It can, but the count needs context such as work type, expected volume, quality, return rate, and period. Completion volume alone is a weak measure of performance.

Why must dashboard data drill down?

Managers need the source task to understand context and act. Without drill-down, charts become a separate reporting layer that users must reconcile manually.

Can Jodoo dashboards change as management questions change?

Yes. A trained administrator can adjust fields, views, filters, workflow rules, and dashboard widgets around the underlying task records.

Build the dashboard from representative exceptions

Create unassigned, overdue, blocked, stale, and waiting-review tasks, then verify every measure opens the correct records and response.
