Run the weekly queue by next action

An unfinished assignment should tell the coordinator what needs doing—not merely add another red cell.

A missed session should not lose its history

Example assignment

Noah misses his planned session

The coordinator keeps Noah’s assignment and original training requirement, records the missed attendance and explains why a replacement is needed. The next session and follow-up are visible on the same record.

What makes the follow-up useful?

  • A named coordinator, not an unowned overdue flag.
  • A replacement session or concrete next action.
  • A reason that distinguishes absence from a provider cancellation.
  • A completion review after the new session actually happens.

Make the evidence handoff clear

  1. Submit against the existing assignment

Select the assignment so the employee, qualification and training version remain connected. Add the completion date, result and supporting file instead of creating an unrelated spreadsheet row.

  2. Accept or return with a reason

The reviewer checks the relevant evidence. A returned record stays open for correction; it does not contribute to accepted completion simply because a file was uploaded.

  3. Keep the next requirement visible

Some assignments finish the requirement. Others support a credential or practical assessment. Use the role matrix to see what remains rather than assuming every accepted course means current readiness.

Adapt the queue to the way training is arranged

A small internal workshop and a booked external qualification need different follow-up. Add the booking reference, cancellation reason or provider contact your coordinator needs. Change the view to show due work for a site, or adjust the reminder rule for a longer booking lead time. You can make those changes around the existing assignments instead of maintaining another disconnected tracker.

Using the employee training tracker

How should I record a missed training session?

Keep the original assignment, record the missed attendance and a reschedule reason, then set the replacement session and next action. A missed session should not disappear into a generic incomplete total.

Should attendance mark training complete?

Not by itself. Record the result and the evidence expected for that training. In this app, a submitted completion remains under review until the reviewer accepts it.

Can employees correct a returned submission?

The workflow keeps a returned reason with the submission so it can be corrected and reviewed again. Before enabling employee self-service, map member accounts and assign the appropriate permission sets in your installed workspace.

Can I use the tracker in Excel first?

Yes. The download includes editable assignments, sample records, dropdowns, due-date formulas and a summary. The Jodoo app adds related records and review handoffs when those become harder to manage in a file.

How do I track recurring training?

Create the next assignment for the new occurrence and retain the previous accepted completion. For a qualification with an expiry date, connect the new work to a renewal case rather than overwriting the old completion.
